The impact such a small change can have on a persons psychological wellbeing and observing the instant relief when they witness their results for the first time.
I know first hand how powerful medical aesthetics can be on confidence, self esteem and general wellbeing having been through it myself.
I’ve been a nurse for almost 15 years now and prior to launching Phi Balance Clinic I was running a fairly high profile hospital through the pandemic.
Once the pandemic was coming to an end I made the tough decision to take a step away from Hospital Management.
I’d retrained in medical aesthetics in 2018 and had always been torn about the correct pathway to pursue, stepping away gave me the opportunity to evaluate my situation and the rest is history really.
I believe my values would suit those most who wish to stay closer to pure medical aesthetics. What I mean by this is a more subtle natural treatment outcome that leaves others guessing what is so different about you rather than pointing out you’ve been augmented or enhanced beyond recognition.
I feel strongly that treatments within this industry, when done correctly, are not about vanity, but about significant psychosocial benefits that have been caused by the visual concerns a person observed in themselves. Medically, for me to justify treatment this is absolutely paramount.
I also believe that more clinicians need to say no. We are doing people an injustice when they receive treatments which are unnecessary and potentially cause psychological harm. Instead signpost these people to forums which can help with their views of themselves.
